"It's time to buzz the turret." - Skye
Today, we will be looking at Skye, an ace pilot that excels under pressure.
- Class: Sniper
- Heroic Perk: Target Lock
Whatever enemy Skye attacks, there will be a target lock on the enemy which grants Skye a short burst of movement. If the enemy is far off the range or Skye has basic attack the enemy for a while, the target lock with fall off. Keep in mind this is perfect for strafing, dodging abilities that require aim like Skaarf's A or Joule's B, etc.
- A Ability: Forward Barrage
Skye shoots a continuous stream of bullets, damaging the first enemy it hits.Crystal items increase the duration of this ability. During this ability, Skye can freely move while shooting a stream of bullets. If you want to cancel this ability early, just press the ability again to stop it. This damage does increased damage if it damages the enemy with target lock on it.
- B Ability: Suri Strike
This ability can only be activated when target lock is applied on the enemy. Skye dashes towards any direction from the enemy, sending missiles as well towards Skye. This ability is perfect for positioning yourself to either go aggressively or defensively. When upgrading this, it passively increases the duration of your target lock on the enemy.
- C Ability: Death From Above
This ability can only be activated when it has target lock on the enemy. If aimed at the center, meaning directly on enemy, it will rain missiles on a certain location in a round shape. Enemies in the area where missiles first land with be briefly stunned. Enemies that try to walk through it will be harshly slowed, meaning this can be helpful for blocking off the enemies escape path and a easy kill for you. If you aim Death From Above away from the enemy, instead of shooting the missiles as a cluster, it will rain missiles as a line. Each upgrade of this ability passively increases the range of the target lock.
- WP Build: Sorrowblade, Breaking Point, Tyrant's Monocle/Bonesaw, Defense, Defense, Journey Boots/Halcyon Chargers. You can overdrive A and B, but I overdrive the ability A first then C just because B does shit no damage with WP. C has more utility because of stuns and slows.
- CP Build: Broken Myth, Shatterglass/Frostburn, Eve of Harvest, Defense, Defense/Clockwork, Halcyon Chargers or Journey Boots. Overdrive B first then A for substantial burst on enemies.
How To Play Her: NOTE THAT WP SKYE IS EASIER TO PLAY THAN CP SKYE!
To play WP Skye, all you really need is Sorrowblade and Breaking Point and you are fine. That's when Skye starts to shine. When first starting the match, I recommend to don't go suicidal and play passively for a while by building up stacks on the closest enemy, trying to not get any attention. Once you think you are getting enough stacks, Suri Strike to the back lines. Yes, it may sound stupid and suicidal, but do it, cause enemies never suspect you there. Ult them with Death From Above to stun them and that is when you get free damage and perfect time to forward barrage. Forward Barrage usually just shreds the enemies health if you can keep them stuck onto the Barrage. If you have crit items, crit also goes into forward barrage, doing so much increased damage and be dead before you know it. If you get caught out, usually your Suri Strike should be back up and you can just Suri Strike back to the place where your teammates are. Keep in mind Target Lock gives Skye an amazing ability to strafe like a god and dodge all "Aim-Required" Abilities. For CP Skye, she is a kiter. Frostburn makes it easier for you to kite so any beginner players who are first trying out Skye, get Frostburn first, then Broken Myth. If enemies immediatly target you, things get scary. Forward Barrage and Ult at same time onto the enemy. Your ult should land on enemy unless you suck at it. Suri Strike Backwards, sending missiles towards you direction, and the enemy will be following you. Those missiles will hit the enemy, dealing HUGE damage and forward barrage them again. Their health gets shredded, you will live. Keep in mind you have Eve of Harvest, so you get crystalized life steal so you will be topped off in health and have good sustain. Tbh, I'm not the best CP Skye, so comment below to help me with this guide. Also, as CP Skye, you are the most mobile hero. Buzz around the enemy, Suri Strike to the enemy back lines ONLY if you have 5 broken myth stacks. Ult, stun, forward barrage, health gone.
- Comps Skye Is Good In: For some reason, this is the meta comp; Vox, Skye, Ardan/Phinn/Lance. WP Vox does insane damage to single target enemies and CP Skye shines in Team Fights. And roamers are just there to keep you alive. If your carry (Vox) is getting targeted, either Suri Strike towards the enemy's direction or ult them. Then, enemy dies. It's that good. Keep in mind this is a late game comp, so don't go too wild early game.
I hope you have fun shredding enemies health to hell in the Halcyon Fold.
